Pastor Craig G. has suggested there are two kinds of Christians: buzzards and hummingbirds. Buzzards fly around looking for dead meat. Hummingbirds fly around looking for sweet things to eat. Buzzard Christians are negative, destructive people, always looking for the worst in others. Hummingbird Christians are positive, upbeat, and optimistic about the people they meet. Which Christian do you think pleases God?
It is so much easier to see the negative than to see the positive. Why is that? Because Satan is right there, whispering in our ear. God waits for us to see the positive. It’s a choice. We can just glide right into the jetstream of Satan and bad-mouth everybody and everything, or we can deliberately search out the good, the great, and the lovely. We’re going to have to answer to God as to why we stooped so low in forming an immediate, negative opinion. It doesn’t take any brains to see the negative. Or we will be commended by Him for seeing life through His eyes, overlooking the ugly. He looks right past it to the beauty of His Creation. There are more things good on this earth than there are bad. Look and see!
