And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13).
Some people believe in a Prosperity Gospel: give and it shall be given unto you. Some people believe in a Poverty Gospel: money is the root of all evil. Pastor Craig G. proposes an Abundance Gospel. A prosperity gospel indicates we are giving in order to get. A poverty gospel indicates we don’t have enough to give. An abundance gospel indicates we give out of the abundance of our hearts.

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13).
If we want to live a blessed life, then we have to live to be a blessing. We keep saying, “Make me into the image of Jesus Christ!” But do we mean it? What did Jesus do for us? He died for us. He defeated Satan for us. He rose again for us. He ascended into heaven for us. Without His generosity we would have no forgiveness of our sins, no new birth, no new spirit, no spiritual guidance to help with our lives, no reconciliation with God our Father, no eternal life with God, which started at our new birth; we would have nothing that separates us from the world. We would have their guilt, their troubled soul, their lack of spiritual life, their lifeless relationship with God our Father, and their destiny of going to hell for eternity. Instead we have God our Father, Jesus our Lord, and their Holy Spirit, our best friend, living inside of us, living our lives with us. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account, (Hebrews 4:13).
Pastor Craig G. says “I will not let what I want rob me of what I have.” There is so much to give thanks for! When I look at what I have, I see so much for which I am grateful. When I look at what I want, I see so much for which I can be depressed. My list is long! It goes all the way from please give me curly hair to being a millionaire. I really want everything on my list. But my leaning on my list causes me to miss the very cherished moments of what I have. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13).
Every good thing I have comes from God. There isn’t anything I have created on my own. Someone might point out that I gave birth to two children. Yes, but do you think I had any idea what was happening in my body while they were being formed? I was just the vessel through which God gave me those two gifts. |
