And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13).
One summer in my university days, I worked in a warehouse that had a complaint box. None of the employees ever put anything in that box, but they stood around all day complaining about the job. So, bright-eyed me wrote up their complaints, one by one, and put them in that box. Then I understood why they didn’t do that. Management called me into the upper offices, and it was not to give me a promotion.

I wonder if God could call Satan into His chambers and demand, “Look at my child, (supply your own name, I’ll supply mine) Marty. Look at My peace in her. Nothing can get through that barrier of peace.” I imagine Satan might say in return, “Oh yeah? Let’s just see about that! I’m gonna do my very best to destroy that peace!” And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13).
Remember those talks we had in school about how if we saved 10% of everything we made from the age of five on, by the time we retired we would be millionaires? Those talks didn’t take into consideration the stock market flops we’re experiencing in this age. All those dimes and nickels have gone down the drain! But those talks were right, because we had to worry about our future. Who was going to take care of us in our old age? And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13).
For a Christian, the most important thing about our lives is that we are sinners who have been forgiven. Before we received that forgiveness, which of course happened at our New Birth, we were aliens to God. Like an illegal alien in a foreign country, we existed, we had a life, one in which we tried our best to make a name for ourselves, but we had no rights to the benefits of the country we lived in, God’s Creation. Once we were born again—nothing ever will match that historic event, the day we made Jesus our Lord—we became legal, and all the benefits of God became ours. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13).
Pastor Craig G. has suggested there are two kinds of Christians: buzzards and hummingbirds. Buzzards fly around looking for dead meat. Hummingbirds fly around looking for sweet things to eat. Buzzard Christians are negative, destructive people, always looking for the worst in others. Hummingbird Christians are positive, upbeat, and optimistic about the people they meet. Which Christian do you think pleases God? |
