And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13). I wonder if God could call Satan into His chambers and demand, “Look at my child, (supply your own name, I’ll supply mine) Marty. Look at My peace in her. Nothing can get through that barrier of peace.” I imagine Satan might say in return, “Oh yeah? Let’s just see about that! I’m gonna do my very best to destroy that peace!” Can God trust us enough to shrug His shoulders and say, “Do your best, Satan.” And do we know what to do to preserve that peace when Satan does his best?
God’s peace fills our hearts and souls. It’s a peace that truly is beyond understanding, because in this world there can be much to fear, but knowing we live under the mighty Hand of God, we know we are safe no matter what happens to us. It is all going to turn out for our good. We may have to be patient; we may have to be deprived for a short time, but in the end of the onslaught by Satan, we will come out victorious. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4 : 6, 7).
