Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also (1 John 2:23).
One of the things I appreciate about God is His attitude about His Son. “Love Me, Love My Boy!” “Reject My Boy? Then you reject Me!” Oh, for a parent like that! But then, I do have a parent like that. Because Jesus is not only my Savior, but He is also my Lord, I acknowledge Him in all ways that I know how; therefore, I get the Father, too. My Dad now says that about me! “Love Me, Love My Marty!” Christianity is founded on love. It’s not founded on rules and regulations. It’s a multi-dimensional stratagem of love. There is nothing rigid about God’s love. It flows, it builds, it covers; it is more than we can comprehend. What we can do, however, is do our best to live in that labyrinth of love, moment by moment loving, receiving love and giving love away. If we want the Son and the Father, we’re going to have to live in that love. So we set our sights high, clear up to heaven, and live a life of divine love with a loving Father and a Son who loves us so much that He died for us, and now we are the channels of Their love!

Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son (1 John 2:22).
It is so black and white. To say that Jesus is not the Messiah, the Anointed One coming from God, the Christ, is to lie, and to lie about the Father and the Son is to be the antichrist, or at least to be a part of him. Our world is headed toward this very decision. There’s a church in London where they deny religion and they pour wine on the ground and squash bread under their feet to demonstrate their freedom from antiquated religious ideas. Already forty of these “churches” have sprung up across the United States. The decision must be made. Either Jesus is the Messiah, the Anointed One coming from God, the Christ, or He is not. The two camps are forming: the Christ camp, the antichrist camp. This very decision is the only reason for the life we live on earth. It is now that we make this choice, not after we leave the earth, not before we arrive, but during our sojourn here. No other decision we ever make will hold a candle to this one. This is the one that determines our eternity. This decision determines our destiny. And really there is only one factor to consider before making this life-shattering decision. Who has ever loved you enough to take your place and suffer the punishment you deserve? Who has ever loved you enough to die for you and with his shed blood buy you back for God the heavenly father? Jesus did. But I invite you, if you can find someone else to do that for you, follow that one. You can’t do these things on your own; you need someone to make that sacrifice for you. Who will you choose? I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth (1 John 2:21).
Be warned! The devil is the father of all lies. There is no truth in a lie, and there is no lie in the truth. The truth, according to Jesus (John 17:17), is the Word of God. Nowhere in the Bible can you find God lying! And Satan, it seems, is incapable of ever telling the truth. Oh, he comes to us as sincere as his evil heart can be because he wants back inside. Inside of you, that is! He goes around seeking wet places, meaning human bodies. Nothing is more wet than the inside of a human body! He has no power unless he can steal it from you, and the best place to steal from you is from the inside where he can know all your particulars. Outside, he doesn’t know a thing. So keep him out in the cold. That’s why the Bible tells us to think good thoughts. It keeps the nightmares and scary visions away. Think about the truth. Nothing is more powerful than contemplating the truth. Meditating the Word is contemplating it, reflecting on it, envisioning it. Making the truth come alive is part of putting faith into action, so since you know the truth, like this verse says, do something about it! See it! See yourself in it! Truth can be traced from information to meditation to revelation, and at the height of revelation, Truth explodes and changes everything. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things (1 John 2:20).
Every time I read this Scripture it boggles my mind! I know it’s true because I have put it to the test. I have an anointing, a deposit from the Holy Spirit, a portion of His power that He has smeared on me, and through this deposit I know all things. You see, when Jesus rose from the dead, tremendous power was used to bring Him back. It wasn’t just being raised from the dead, many had already experienced that, like Lazarus. It was the stripping off of all that He had carried to hell on His trip down: all mental disease, for example, all suicide, all deformities, all deficiencies, all sicknesses, all diseases, all germs, all viruses, all poverty, all failure, etc. which had been on all who had lived or ever would live. In other words, every single thing that the devil uses on the earth to defeat mankind was applied to the perfect body and soul of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and He carried it so that you and I wouldn’t have to be responsible for carrying it ourselves. We were guilty and should have been made to support that burden. But He did it for us. The power that God used to pull His Son out of the muck and mire is now available to us, and we have been given the Grace to live with and know how to use that power. We know all things! How? By the Spirit of God who lives in us. Let Him be the genius who lives in you, and He will make you look like a genius! |
