God’s Word is God Himself A Foundation Stone In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1). One thing students of the Bible seem to fail to understand is that the “Word of God” is God Himself. Notice the above Scripture. It seems to me it makes my point rather well—“and the Word was God.” Whenever we pick up our Bibles to read, we are handling God. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God (Revelations 19:13). This verse explains who Jesus is. He is one third of the Godhead, He came out of God as His Son, and He is called the very thing that God is called—“His name is called The Word of God.” And we know that the Son of God has come and given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life (1 John 5:20).
This verse and those that follow should relate to you the fact that when you pray, when you read the Bible, you are dialoging with God Himself. You are never meeting with an intercessor. God invites you to His throne and onto His lap to discuss whatever is on your mind. He is there with all revelation, all understanding, all knowledge, and He wants to share it all with you but at your pace. Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar (Proverbs 30:5). The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times (Proverbs 30:5). The entirety of Your word is truth (Psalm 119:160). Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth (Psalm 124:8). The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever (Isaiah 40:8). And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1:14). …Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth (John 17:17). For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any wo-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). … 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the Word of God which lives and abides forever, 24 because all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, but its flower falls away, but the Word of the Lord endures forever (1 Peter 1:23, 24). 11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and true, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood and His name is called The Word of God (Revelation 19:11–13). Speak often with the Word of God and let Him often speak to you. He is who He is, and we can never change that. Surrender to the Word of God and learn from Him.
