And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13).
I like it that here in France Christians call each other “brother” and “sister.” When I visited churches in the States that had that practice, I thought they were being ultra-religious, but here, where we are so few in number, it’s more intense than superficial. It’s truly family. It has to be. There’s no room for not loving your brother or sister. It’s all we’ve got. I can see why Christians, in countries where they are persecuted, cling to each other. I’m glad I’m not in such a country. Nor was I born and raised in such a country. My country, the United States, was so free for Christianity that we’ve become complacent. We may say cheery hellos on Sunday morning, but we don’t bother to see each other during the week, or ask how we can be of help, or offer anything to a “brother” or “sister.” This does not please God. He wants to see “family.” Do we have to be persecuted to become “family”?
