Romans 1Scholars think Romans is Paul’s greatest work. I think Hebrews is his greatest work and Romans his second. Next year we can plan on digging into Hebrews as deeply as we do with Romans this year, maybe more-so. Hebrews relates the feasts, festivals and fasts of the Old Testament to the New Testament. What had once been exterior, outward acts, after Jesus brought new life, these same feasts, festivals and fasts became interior, spiritual events. Hebrews is a book on how to live as a spirit in this physical world. Romans relates the laws and regulations of the Old Testament to the New Testament. What had once been over 600 laws, after Jesus brought new life, these laws became a transformation of the human being into a love being – truly loving one another from the heart. Romans is a book on how to be made out of love like God is, and thereby love everyone. It has taken me thirty-three years to put the book of Romans into practice, and I’m still working at it. As we go through this book together, let’s keep in mind that Christianity is first and foremost an inner work. All the changes that God is looking for are on the inside of us. The inner changes will manifest the outer changes which humanity is looking for. First we must recognize our need to change in order to be the very image of Jesus Christ. When that’s accomplished we are free to live on a spiritual high. The first seven chapters of Romans deals with the sordid, human condition; we will look at our own condition and hopefully make the necessary changes. From Romans eight to the end we study the new man. Month One Week One:Romans 1:1–8 Week Two:Romans 1:9–17 Week Three:Romans 1:18–25 Week Four:Romans 1:26–2:4 Each week follow this format: Day One:Read assigned verses to yourself three times. Day Two:Read the verses out loud three times. Day Three:Copy the verses into a notebook. Day Four:Write the assigned verses in your own words.

Writing has been in my blood, so to speak, but when I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ and He told me to write, all my trepidations rolled away and I began in earnest! After all, if God Almighty says it was His idea that I be a writer, who am I to stand in His way? My hope is that you not only like what I write, but that your life is moved by it, and that your party to Jesus and with Jesus turns your life into days of Heaven on Earth. Archives
