I, too, wanted to look over the guardrail on the balcony of heaven to see what was so exciting to the angels. If we’d been a ship where all the passengers suddenly shifted to one side of the boat and looked overboard, we’d all fall in the water! My angel pointed out a large, most handsome angel, also peering down. He said, “That’s Gabriel. The door behind him leads into his office.” Several angels pointed at a certain human and began chattering about him as he walked down the street. Apparently, they could see another angel accompanying the human, who was a particular friend of theirs. The man talked on his cell phone as he walked, and I could hear the conversation. He said, “Just this morning in my prayer time, the Lord appointed the angel Gabriel to me. He has many messages which I must preach.” My mouth dropped open. I inquired, “If the angel Gabriel is on this balcony, how can that man say that Gabriel has been appointed to him? Evidently, these angels can see the angel the man is calling Gabriel, so how can that be? “The angel Gabriel is the one who takes all the messages from the Throne Room to the earth, and to do that he is in charge of billions of angels. All the angels in his division of the Angelic Army are also called Gabriel. That differentiates the work those specific angels are doing. Whatever message each human is receiving from the Lord is just as important as if Gabriel himself carried the message to him because each of these angels are representatives of Gabriel. Don’t mistake the messages from the Throne Room with those from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is on constant duty and talks to every individual whenever the opportunity arises. But the messages from the Throne Room are of particular importance and must be adhered to.”
Perplexed, I looked at my angel quizzically and he quickly added, as if this would explain things more accurately, “All of Michael’s angels, also numbering in the billions, are called Michael. Their job is protection.” It was evident to my angel—and to me—that I didn’t understand the significance of what I was seeing. The angel touched my eyes, and suddenly, when looking at the earth, I could see that just about every human being had either a Michael or a Gabriel attached to himself or herself. “What’s happening?” I gasped. “We are in the Preparation Time for the last, Great Revival. Direct communication with the General is imperative. Therefore, protection from the counter-attack by the enemy is required.” “Do I have preparation work to do?” “Absolutely.” “Does every human being have preparation work to do?” “Absolutely.” “What do I have to do?” “Gabriel will tell you, but I’ll give you a hint. What was the motivating force behind the French Revolution?” “The printed word?” I asked. “Yes. The brochures, the posters, the street journalism, the common man’s newspapers, the books that set the stage, the plays that enflamed man’s emotions to riot. In a simple word— WORDS. If I were you, I’d get to work instead of dawdling around heaven acting like a small-minded tourist.” I tried to hide my smile. “Speaking of words, you don’t mince yours, do you?” He dryly replied, “Angels can only speak the truth. And we make no apology for what we say.” Rebuffed I said, “Maybe you’d better take me home.” Suddenly, I was back in my bedroom, sitting on the edge of my bed, mulling over what I had seen and regretting I could no longer see what the angels were so enthusiastically watching. As I thought about it, I began to have many regrets. I said to the Lord, “If the end is coming, then there are a few things I’d like to do before that happens. For one, I’d like to snow ski again. I was never any good at it, but I thoroughly enjoyed doing it. Probably my bones are too brittle to fling myself down a triple X slope, but I could certainly do some cross-country skiing.” The Holy Spirit spoke in my heart. “Why do you think you can only do those kinds of things here on the earth?” “Is there someplace else I can ski?” I asked. “Certainly, let me show you.” Suddenly, I was back in heaven, but not in the city. The Holy Spirit flew me over a huge territory dedicated only to sporting activities. Huge mountains cut down to beaches, but not swimming areas. These beaches were for surfboarding, helicopter water skiing, and other such sports. The mountains were for rock climbing, spelunking, and of course snow skiing along with other sportive activities. The one ski area he showed me was so big it would take a car three days to drive from one side to the other. He said, “You can do any and every sport once you are on the other side of death. Right now, you must prepare people for what is to come. The more people you can keep from God’s Wrath, the better off all of us will be. Again, I opened my eyes to my bedroom on the earth, only this time I was lying on my back. Gabriel stood at the foot of my bed. I’m embarrassed to say I quickly tried to determine if it was the real angel or one of his representatives, but I gave up trying when I realized each of his angels would be an exact replica of him. He did have a message. “The Lord God has called you to write. Now. Not after everything has happened. There are historians to do that. Bring your words to the Throne Room. They are important.” And then he was gone. I reflected on the ways I prepare myself to write. I have two books that I always read before I begin. I headed for the bookshelf, but something stopped me. Usually I would make 3 x 5 cards with each movement in the book mentioned on them. After I had written forty-five or more of them, I would lay the cards out on a big surface, like the dining room table, and move them around until the cards have made sense out of the book. Something stopped me from doing that. I suddenly had the bone-chilling knowledge that the Lord wanted to download three books into my spirit, a trilogy to be read before the last Great Revival would occur. This idea caused me to break out into a cold, chilling sweat. If the Lord downloaded it into my spirit, then I would be responsible for pulling it into my soul—every little detail, every last word—and presenting it to the world exactly as He had planned. To date, I have written the first one, and after hunting for the title He preferred, I named it “Wild Fire,” and I hope I have it right. This last Great Revival will require obedience in non-conventional ways. Like my Bible teacher always said, “I’d rather have wild fire than no fire at all.”

Evangelist Teacher Writing has been in my blood, so to speak, but when I surren-dered my life to Jesus Christ and He told me to write, all my trepidations rolled away and I began in earnest! After all, if God Almighty says it was His idea that I be a writer, who am I to stand in His way? My hope is that you not only like what I write, but that your life is moved by it, and that your party to Jesus and with Jesus turns your life into days of Heaven on Earth.
